There’s something in the feeling of achieving something new. A combination of adrenaline, confidence, and victory surge through the body, ready for more.

In a way, it isn’t the action itself that’s being celebrated, but the self-fulfillment of exploring one’s drive and open-mindedness.

And it’s even better when a goal is set, then met. It’s as if we’re telling ourselves, “We told ourselves we wanted something, then did it.”

What could feel better than that?

Goal setting itself is a skill - the ability to set goals that are just challenging enough to push oneself without being demoralizing. Then, the willpower to push through and pursue that very goal. That feeling when you’re running, lifting, or working on something so important and hit a wall - only to tell yourself, “I’m doing this, no matter how I feel”.

It isn’t magic. It’s human emotion in pursuit of a goal. The most beautiful things in life seem to come to us through challenge and effort. Like riding a rollercoaster, the hardest part is getting on.

Then, it’s just an act of riding the track. And having fun along the way.
